Information we collect and why
When you contact us, we collect your name, email address, selected equipment categories, enquiry topic and the information you enter in your message. We use this to respond, understand your requirements and take steps towards supplying products or services at your request. We do not use enquiries to subscribe you to marketing.
We also process limited technical information to keep the site secure, such as submission times, a pseudonymous identifier derived from your IP address for rate limiting, and essential session information. Our hosting provider may keep server access and security logs containing IP addresses and requested pages.
Our lawful bases are taking steps at your request before entering a contract, performing a contract where applicable, and our legitimate interests in responding to general enquiries and maintaining a secure website. We may retain records when necessary to meet a legal obligation.
Where information goes
Website enquiries are stored in a private area of our hosting environment and are accessible through a protected administrative inbox. Our hosting provider processes website data on our behalf. Where email notifications are enabled, our email provider also processes the notification. We do not sell your personal information.
We share information with service providers only where necessary to operate the website or fulfil an agreed service, and with authorities where legally required. If we arrange processing outside the UK, applicable UK data-protection safeguards must be in place.
How long we keep it
Enquiries in the website inbox are retained for 90 days and removed during the next scheduled or administrative cleanup. Information needed for an ongoing customer relationship may be transferred to our business records. Contract, invoice and accounting records are retained for the period required by applicable law, generally six years. Security rate-limit records expire after a short period. We may retain information longer where needed to handle an active dispute or legal obligation.
Cookies and local storage
The website uses an essential session cookie to protect form submissions and support secure functionality. It expires when your browser session ends, subject to your browser’s session-restoration settings. Administrators also use the session cookie to sign in.
If you add an item to your enquiry list, your browser stores the selected categories locally so the list remains available when you navigate or return. This stores no name or email address. You can remove it using “Clear list” in the enquiry panel or by clearing your browser’s site data. We do not use advertising cookies, analytics trackers or third-party font services.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can ask to access, correct or erase your information, restrict its processing, object to processing based on legitimate interests, or receive a portable copy. We may need information to verify your identity. You can contact us using the methods above.
You may complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. We would appreciate the opportunity to address your concern first.
Keeping your information safe
Please do not submit passwords, bank details, payment-card information or other sensitive information through the enquiry form. Remote support is arranged separately and requires your permission. We apply access controls and technical safeguards to website enquiries, but no online system can guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this notice
We may update this notice as our services or processing practices change. The effective date above identifies the current version.
